Melanie from Empower Yoga Project is a free-spirited and compassionate woman who has come to value movement above everything else. Her mission is to offer an inclusive yoga experience that liberates students from physical/emotional pain and suffering, fosters friendship, and empowers others to live with joy and intention. Melanie's creative energy, transitions, and playlists allow her to offer Vinyasa Flow sequences that are playful, healing, and accessible to beginner and experienced yogis alike. She takes particular interest in health and wellness, and she loves supporting the formation of healthy habits by accompanying friends to the gym or on walks, cooking with others/sharing recipes, and sharing wellness practices that work well for her.
She has her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and she is currently a Research Associate at UMass Chan Medical School. She is studying a protein called Hsp90 that has been identified as a drug target for cancer treatment. She is also working towards getting into an accelerated nursing (RN) program, and she eventually wants to be a nurse practitioner and work in women’s health.
She is driven by her curiosity about living systems and by her desire to make a positive impact on the people around her. She is a passionate advocate for women’s health and wellness in particular - she wants to be an ally to as many women as possible and help them make informed decisions about their medical care. She believes in treating every patient as a person rather than as a case on a piece of paper, and she supports a holistic view of health and wellness.
In her free time, Margot enjoys going ice skating, exercising, reading, listening to music/podcasts, going to concerts, cooking/baking, and spending time with her friends. She is always happy to learn new things and loves talking about anything from biology to philosophy.

Jenny hopes to help others reduce health risks and increase their overall health and well-being physically, mentally and socially. She is an Ageless Grace trainer for patients with stroke at her university and loves working with the geriatric population.
After graduation, Jenny plans on helping rural and underserved communities by becoming a physiotherapist for the Peace Corps &/or Therapist Beyond Borders. In her free time, she loves to hammock, travel, and be with her family.
